Medicine Circle has many uses. I wanted to build one to provide a focal point where people can go to be with their higher self or simply to aid in meditation. With that purpose I looked up few photos to gather some ideas. I already had lovely river rocks to build it from available and a perfect spot above my rock wall.
My property seem to have many vortexes and the space where I wanted to build the medicine circle also had a few. To be exact, it had six vortex in the shape of a crescent moon. I did journey to my guides and also to the guides of the land for some insight and direction and came up w/ a conclusion that I needed to close the vortexes already present and build on more neutralised piece of land.
To close the existing vortexes, I just simply asked my guides and the Aina (land) guides to be there for support and guidance. Then I thanked the vortex for providing energy and help. These being upward vortexes, what you would call positive “yang” energies, I visualised rainbow colors coming from the vortex and imagine them returning to its source up to the skies. I placed my sacred objects, one of my Power Animal symbols, where the vortex use to be and used a Tibetan bowl I had for toning to neutralize the area. I just stood there until the bowl stopped singing and held on to my intention of neutralising the land. I did this in each six spots then thanked all the guides and closed with a meditation.
Now that the area was prepped, I went on to mark the middle spot w/ a piece of river rock and started marking the directions. I used my handy dandy iphone’s compass to locate exact directions starting from the North. Radius I picked was 9 feet. Number 9 to mark completion. so the whole circle is 18 feet wide. After marking NSWE, I went to mark all the NW, NE, SW, and SE mid-directions.
I marked the quadrant with 7 stones. Seven to represent the chakra numbers. Seven plus the middle stone and the final direction marker stones and you get 9, number of completion.
I laid somewhat of red color volcanic rocks for the SW quarter sector of the circle, black river rocks for the NW, whitish volcanic rocks for the NE quarter, and since I couldn’t find “yellow” rocks I didn’t lay out my final quarter of SE. I think I will have to visit the local craft stores and see what they have. Perhaps I can get little creative.
I was blessed with bunch of larger pieces of ricer rocks. Just big enough to sit on for smaller person I think or at least comfortably stand on. I will place the large stones about few feet away from circle with a intention that people can sit on them to mediate. You could face toward the circle or away facing directly to the directions. I can’t wait to have huge circle of people to gather at this circle. Mahalo for reading!
